Introducing Dr. Travis Phillipsen

Psychological Associate

Dr. Travis Phillipsen works with individuals who are tired of simply getting by and are seeking a more fulfilling and meaningful life. Many of his clients come to therapy because they are navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, substance use, or relationship challenges that leave them feeling stuck. His goal is to help clients understand themselves more clearly by exploring their past, how it has shaped them, and how they can begin building a more fulfilling way of living.

Dr. Phillipsen’s style is patient, thoughtful, and collaborative. He works from a psychodynamic approach, paying close attention to the deeper patterns beneath symptoms, including how early relationships, painful experiences, defenses, and repeated relational dynamics shape the way a person sees themselves and moves through the world. He also integrates practical, evidence-based tools when helpful, including Written Exposure Therapy for PTSD, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, CBT, DBT, and trauma-informed approaches.

Dr. Phillipsen is especially interested in helping clients work through trauma and complex PTSD, grief, relational wounds, anxiety, depression, and substance use, while supporting the deeper work of understanding who they are and building a life they want to live. He believes therapy is not only about healing from wounds, but also about developing the capacity to live with greater clarity, strength, and self-direction.
